Hi,
My name is Tristan Gallagher, I am currently a 23 year old power sports photographer. I got myself started in photography by always being the one in the friend group who would whip out his iPhone and grab shots of all of my buddies doing their thing. That gradually progressed from taking photos and editing them on my phone, to buying my first DSLR and all the Adobe programs. I have learned everything I know by watching endless hours of tutorials and how-to videos by my favorite creator, Peter McKinnon.

Photography is not my only hobby. Ripping sleds with my friends in the mountains gives me the ultimate high. I challenged myself greatly when I decided I wanted to bring the camera with me on our rides. The extra weight, bulkiness, and the thought of bailing off the sled right onto my camera made the first few days a struggle. Now I could not imagine riding without a camera, the things you see, the places you go, and the drive brought onto your buddies looking to perform in front of the lens. Snowmobiling quickly became one of my favorite things to capture with my camera.

Automotive is another favorite category to photograph of mine. Growing up in the car scene gave me an easy subject to start photographing. This was the big kick off to my portfolio and where I learned a majority of what I know. I was comfortable with cars, I knew the ins and the outs, and I knew some people who wanted photos of their cars... a lot of people. I will always have a love and eye for automotive industry.

Before I got my camera I had no idea how much time I would soon dedicate to photography. It has taught me so much, brought me to meet many new friends, kept me out of some trouble but also gotten me in some, haha. If I could go back, the only thing I would do differently is that I would have started sooner. I am so thankful for platforms like this to spread the work and word of photography. I think so many more people could enjoy photography as much as I do.

Thank you for the read.
Tristan Gallagher,
Iona, ID.
